The Retail Bridalwear Association (RBA) has advised that brides should beware of web-based scams and conduct thorough research before making purchases.

RBA suggested that brides should first try outlets it has accredited and compare presentation, service, quality of product and quality of services.

“Don’t just rush for the first website that looks like it has a few cheap dresses on it,” secretary of the association Philip Rathkey urged.

He recommended that brides beware cheap headline prices, which sometimes hide postage charges.

He also said that some retailers offer dresses for £50. But when returning the outfits some brides have been shocked to find that the company valued it at only £1, and refused to refund the remainder.
