Figures show that financial fetters imposed by the credit crunch have not put people off planning their dream wedding.

The editor of Wedding Ideas Magazine Rachel Moschke, said that couples are simply cutting back on costs by doing a lot of the work themselves, rather than cancelling their weddings,

The credit crunch is not stopping people getting married at al. It’s such an important day, but it is really important to concentrate on the couple.

National Cost of a Wedding Survey 2008 by You & Your Wedding magazine found that the average cost of a wedding currently stands at over £20,000.
