American actress and singer Beyonce Knowles has admitted that she would never have considered selling her wedding photos to a magazine.

She married secretly to long-term love Jay-Z in a private wedding ceremony this year in New York.

In a recent interview she said that she was offered crazy money which is just ridiculous. But in the end, absolutely not. It’s so not worth it.

She said that they worked really hard at keeping it private and she has always been this way and Jay-Z always been this way as well, so that’s why they complement each other. She added “We always knew that it would be private and quiet, for all the good reasons.”

Recently I have decided to go tea total for a while, as after some heavy weekends I felt it was time to detox. Well my fiances family are quite big drinkers and encourage me to drink with them especially planning the wedding. My abstinence has cnvinced my mother in law to be that I am pregnant and she doesn’t believe me when I protest.

It has made me think a lot about the old fashioned shot gun weddings, it used to be that couples would refrain from… erm… coupling until the wedding night. Therefore if a woman were to get pregnant the pair would be forced to get hitched, the father traditionally forced down the aisle with a shotgun to his head.

Noadays this is not so much of an issue as it is more and more common for people to have children out of wedlock. Although I think I’ll wait till I’m married before we start thinking about starting a family as my Grandmother is quite traditional and I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a shot gun hidden somewhere.

I went to Manchester Wedding Fair last month, held at what used to be the GMEX and is now Manchester Central. It is the first time I went to this fair, last year I went to Harrogate Bridal Show which was very impressive.

Manchester Bridal show was a bit disapointing, I still had to pay the same amount to get in but it was no where near the same sort of size as Harrogate was. Firstly I didn’t kmow where to go, I was given vague directions by someone that worked there but myself and about 7 or 8 others just stumbled around till we found the back entrance to Manchester Central.

The show was very small with only about 100 stalls all in the same hall, there was a fashion show in the middle which was quite entertaining but used up a lot of space.

The stalls were quite good but they were mostly photographers and teeth whitening products. I went to the fair hoping to try dresses and look for a venue but there weren’t many dress stalls and all the venue stalls seemed a bit needy.

I enjoyed my self but did not find anything of any use for my wedding.

The family of an elderly couple in Birmingham held a surprise party to celebrate their Golden anniversary. Brian and Maureen Barber, both 71, celebrated the day surrounded by three generations of their family who had traveled from all over the country for the bash.

Mr Barber had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 1990. One of their daughters told the Birmingham Mail,

My dad’s illness took hold so quickly so I just wanted to do this for mum to remember the day.
Dad doesn’t talk any more but he still smiles and laughs. We wanted to show that even if something like this happens you can still be a family and enjoy each other’s company.

The pair married back in 1958.
